Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page.
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
“Once we were on the road, I looked for minor detours to our destination, if possible, detours designed to prolong the trip by a minute – or maybe two, but no more lest she grow suspicious – and thereby extend my time with her. I drove with both hands clenching the wheel, and my eyes firmly on the road.”

“El Capitan reaches overhead and grips the control stick for the rudder and planes. The grooves fit his hand perfectly. He touches the gauges on the console, each dial cleanly labeled: FORE-BUCKY, MAIN-BUCKY, AFT-BUCKY. ‘Talk to me, Fignan. How does this baby really work?'”

And since again, he didn’t consider himself the type of person to commit an armed robbery, actually committing one didn’t immediately change his opinion of himself, and possibly didn’t right up to the moment detectives came to our house, walked around our the living room discussing “a trip to North Dakota,”and then told both our parents, almost casually, they would have to have handcuffs put on and go to gaol. This may be how many criminals who’re new to their work think about their actions and themselves.
